I have a daughter,
She’s my world—
I love her with all my heart.
Her happiness is important to me—
I worry about the decisions she makes,
So I become distressed,
When she acts presumptuously.
But who am I upset at,
Is it her or is it myself—
Am I the only one,
Who’s anxious about her tomorrow?
And even though, I’m her defender,
I’m feeling sickly and feeble-minded—
For I don’t know,
How much longer—I’ll be around.
All over the land, countless dads
Are pleading for their daughters:
That she will be in God’s Heart,
And for my world to be in His Hands.
