The crisis in the world today is that instead of embracing a new spiritual life, like we were designed to do, people are trying to get as much pleasure out of an aging physical body, for as long as they can. Subsequently egotistical adults refuse to grow up. It it true that people without convictions are prone to depression when they become aged and sickly. However that is no excuse for the obsession with “trying to remain forever young”; this preoccupation of “not wanting to become old” was never supposed to hijack our eternal purposes. That’s why our Creator in His Infinite Wisdom designed us to age gradually so that we could transition into spiritual mature beings gracefully.

“I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me.” Bible, Philippians 1:20-22
“Do not allow this world to mold you in its own image. Instead, be transformed from the inside out by renewing your mind. As a result, you will be able to discern what God wills and whatever God finds good, pleasing, and complete.” Romans 12:2
