You are the sun and you are the moon,
And I am the poet who adores you;
I write my poems for you.

Sometimes the sunshines on me,
Other times the moonbeams do.

But in between the sunset and the moon,
I’m separated from your warmth,
And the reflection of your rays.

So in between the moon and the sunrise,
I recite poetry, while I wait for your morning glow.

(Spanish Translation)

Tu eres mi sol y eres mi luna,
Y yo soy el poeta que te adora;

Black Hole

There’s a hole in outer space,
Swallowing the Planets, Moons and Stars;
Everything around it.

Just like the hole in my heart,
Swallowing everything lovely, that surrounds it,
And crushing it!

Propaganda Games

If you promote racism,
It grows.
If you accept racism,
It grows.
If you neglect racism,
It grows;
And hate rhetoric wins.

If you promote respect,
It grows.
If you accept respect,
It grows.
If you neglect respect,
It dies;
And hate rhetoric wins, again!

Do you want to play,
One last time?
If you win,
You’ll get a Bonus Round!
Ready Player One?
Genocide Mode:
Do or Die.

I’m A Giver

When I say I love you,
I back it up.
They’re not just empty words,
Flung in the wind.

Everything I have,
I give to the one I love,
Be it my time, money
And all of the above.

I have a big heart,
And I try to fit you,
And everyone else,
I care about, in there.

So don’t be a doubter,
Wondering if my love,
Is limited,
Or conditional.

“I’m not holding back,
You’re getting it all.”

I hope you’ll understand,
That my greatest joy,
Is to be able to give,
To my family.

Fighting Fair

I know you like mystery, suspense and drama,
But I’m kind of tired, of living in a soap opera.
So please stop the cheating, when we’re disagreeing–
By raising the volume, in your condescending tone!
You can’t fool me, you’re not winning the debate,
You’re just kicking the can, further down the road.

Trying to exhaust me, forcing me to surrender,
By going to your default, virtual choke hold–
To suppress my freedom of expression,
Just like the progressives and fascists do,
When they’re trying to wear down the detractors.
This is not a revolution, all I need is a resolution.

I Know Your Type

What annoys me the most,
About your mannerisms,
Is what I detest the most about myself.
So why do I persist,
In punishing you for my past?

It’s not your fault,
That you’re only human too!
I wish I could forgive myself,
That way,
I would also pardon you.

But I’m afraid that’ll never happen,
So I’m stuck with my prejudices,
And the prospect of profiling,
Anybody that reminds me,
Just a little bit of you.

All my poems are dear to me,
Because they are my offspring.
They were conceived from the heart,
And born in my brain,
To breathe life into the page.

Some are long, some are short,
Some are enlightened and some are dark.
They might not rhyme, or appear to be,
Worth the time, it takes to read them.
But to me, they will always be, poetry.
