Señor Sunshine

Hello, I’m Mister Sunshine!
I brighten up your day,
And as far back,
As I can remember,
I’ve lived a charmed life.

That’s why, I’ve always been,
A happy-go-lucky type of guy;
But along with all my fine attributes,
I must admit, I have a fault–
For I’m also Mister Vanity.

Some time ago,
I decided not to look in the mirror anymore,
Because every time I did,
I would say what a good-looking man.

But today,
I inadvertently looked in the mirror,
And I became discouraged–
For I saw, an older man looking back at me.

But then he smiled,
And as I slowly turned away,
I said to myself, what a handsome old fellow.

Spanish Translation

¡Hola, soy el Señor Sol!
Yo ilumino tu día,
Y hasta donde puedo recordar,
He vivido una vida encantadora.

Por eso, siempre he sido,
Un hombre afortunado;
Pero junto con todos mis buenos atributos,
Debo admitir, que tengo una falla,
Porque también soy el Señor Vanidoso.

Hace algún tiempo,
Decidí no mirarme en el espejo,
Porque cada vez que lo hacía,
Diría que hombre tan bien parecido.

Pero hoy,
No pensando, me miré al espejo,
Y me desanimé,
Porque vi a un anciano mirándome.

Pero luego sonrió,
Y mientras lentamente me alejaba,
Me dije a mí mismo, qué viejo tan guapo.
