My Brother’s Keeper

There are stubborn men all over the world.
Why would I assume—
That my father; brother; or son
Would do any better?
Even with all his faults,
I still must respect him.

Yet, despite all my shortcomings,
Jesus still loved me.

There are foolish females all over the world.
Why would I imagine—
That my mother; sister; or daughter
Would be any different?
Even with all her drama,
I still must protect her.

Yet, despite all my imperfections,
I’m still His beloved.

“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” Bible, 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
