Field of Dreams

I’ve traveled the world
Looking for treasure.
Looking for pleasure—
So I can get
A full measure.

I’ve seen the field.
I’ve seen the gold.
I’ve seen the generations
Mining it for ore,
They all come,
And they all go.

But why the lust,
For more and more?
Only to watch,
As they slowly sink,
Into the very same field:
A field of bones.

Spanish Translation

He viajado por el mundo
Buscando tesoros.
Buscando placeres,
Cualquier cosa,
Para conseguir
Todo lo que pueda.

He visto el campo.
He visto el oro.
He visto las generaciones
Buscando la plata,
Todos vienen,
Y todos se van.

¿Pero por qué la lujuria,
Por más y más?
Sólo para ver,
como se hunden,
en el mismo campo:
Un campo de huesos.

How Inflation Precipitates Societal Collapse

“Who is good, if he knows not who he is? And who knows what he is, if he forgets that things which have been made are perishable, and that it is not possible for one human being to be with another always?”

Spanish Translation

“¿Quién es bueno, si no sabe quién es? ¿Y quién sabe lo que es, si olvida que las cosas que se han hecho—perecerán, y que no es posible que un ser humano esté siempre con otro?”
