Be a good girl (and do as you’re told)

The truth of the matter is that
new life always supersedes old life.

But if the old life doesn’t breath life
into the new life, it won’t survive.

So the new life’s authoritarian
should force the old life to embrace it.

Even if the old life’s physician
believes it will suck the life out of her.

Doctors say strict abortion laws in Texas put pregnant women and their physicians at serious risk

The recent punting of the abortion ruling to the states by the Supreme Court justices has only served to intensify the anger and pain endured by women seeking reproductive health services. These partisan justices were well aware that their decision would provoke further culture wars and deepen the division and confusion among the general public. Regardless of their primary objective, which may have been to implement a political strategy for their party to secure future electoral victories, the impact on women’s health and well-being should never be disregarded.

Implications of State Jurisdiction: Certain global laws, such as the landmark Roe v. Wade decision, hold significant influence over the entire population and, should remain under federal jurisdiction. State governments, on the other hand, should primarily legislate on local issues. Nevertheless, most Republicans hold the misguided belief that passing laws in their states will compel the entire country to adhere to their agenda.

Manipulative Intentions: The passing of restrictive abortion legislation by Republicans serves as an attempt to intimidate citizens from pursuing their civil rights. By excessively litigating health providers and insurance companies, they aim to energize their base of voters who are swayed by divisive issues, such as moral outrage against abortion. This manipulative approach prioritizes political gains over the well-being and autonomy of women.

Authoritarian Control: In implementing restrictive abortion policies grounded in anti-abortion Christian nationalist beliefs, conservative politicians neglect the medical needs of female citizens. These policies seek to suppress public discourse and maintain control over women’s lives. The punitive measures established for violations, including imprisonment for women who have abortions, clearly prioritize the state’s dominion over the well-being of patients and the expertise of healthcare professionals. Such actions perpetuate a culture of tyranny and uphold traditional gender roles.

Contempt for Women’s Health: MAGA Republicans demonstrate a striking disregard for females who face challenges in giving birth to healthy babies. Their zero-tolerance approach towards pregnant women with health issues leads them to enforce punishments in order to set examples. Unfortunately, it is the sick, vulnerable and minority women who suffer the most. By seeking control over those they label as “loose,” “wild,” or “immoral,” these legislators treat them as property of the state. In doing so, they trample upon constitutional rights and further endanger the already distressing maternal mortality rate in America.

A Path towards Dystopia: The Texas abortion law, SB8, allows individuals to pursue civil action against those who “aid or abet” abortion. This alarming resemblance to George Orwell’s concept of “Big Brother” suggests a shift towards an autocratic society where surveillance and citizen informants pervade. Allowing autocracy to supplant democracy will undoubtedly lead to a dystopian reality difficult to rectify.

Vague laws, silenced doctors: Still, whether doctors can openly counsel their patients without violating SB8 is a bit more complicated, and hasn’t been tested in court. The law’s vague — it’s really poorly written, probably on purpose, nobody wants to be defendant number one on this. The Texas abortion laws were designed to sow confusion and fear, and they’re working, When doctors hear that abortion is illegal and anyone can sue them, they err on the side of caution, rather than practice up to the edge of what’s legally allowed. People want to stay out of trouble, and physicians are no exception to that.

“In every encounter, we either give life or we drain it; there is no neutral exchange.” By: Brennan Manning

“Before states banned abortion, one of the gravest outcomes of early miscarriage could easily be avoided: Doctors could offer a dilation and curettage procedure, which quickly empties the uterus and allows it to close, protecting against a life-threatening hemorrhage[…]

Dr. Gabrielle Taper was a resident at a Catholic hospital in Austin when the ban was enacted, and a culture of fear took hold among her colleagues, she told ProPublica. ‘We started asking, Are we certain that we can document that we’ve met the radiology guidelines?’ as opposed to just treating the patient in front of us,’ she said.

If they couldn’t show that the likely miscarriage met the criteria, they often felt they had to discharge patients without offering a D&C. ‘People are already in distress, and you are giving them confusion, a false sense of hope,’ she told ProPublica. ‘Having to send a patient home knowing they may bleed so much they would need a blood transfusion — when I know there are procedures I could do or medicine I could offer — is just excruciating.’” Excerpt from A “Striking” Trend: After Texas Banned Abortion, More Women Nearly Bled to Death During Miscarriage

Libertine Roe v. Patriot Wade Analogy: The reason pro-life women hate pro-choice women is because they don’t want any loose women around their men. Women who have to depend on men, both emotionally and financially, naturally feel threatened by single women. Therefore if the cost of being loose is higher by eliminating abortion and birth control medication, the pro-life woman’s fear of losing her man is lower.

It doesn’t matter if loose women are stigmatized by society and denied their civil rights, because it’s self preservation that really matters. It’s not that the christian nationalist woman is a saint and holier than the other woman, it’s just that her man, can’t be trusted not to stray, so she blames the lonely woman for her man’s infidelity. It’s not that patriots love the unborn, it’s that they hate unwed mothers, who have been duped by unpatriotic men.

Patriotic women believe they don’t really have a voice, so they are willing to sacrifice their own freedom in order to limit the freedoms of others. They want an authoritarian government to punish pro-choice women by taking away their ability to choose, even if the fallout is that all women lose the same freedom. Since the patriotic woman can’t control her unpatriotic man, she wants to control the other woman, even if it means a fight to the death of the other woman. The age old battle for mating partners continues.

“Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority. There is no worse heresy than that the office sanctifies the holder of it.” By: John Dalberg-Acton

“Though liberty is established by law, we must be vigilant, for liberty to enslave us is always present under that same liberty. Our Constitution speaks of the ‘general welfare of the people’. Under that phrase all sorts of excesses can be employed by [authoritarian] tyrants—to make us bondsmen.” By: Marcus Tullius Cicero
