In the land of the free, where patriarchy reigns,
A stubborn authoritarian holds on tightly, to the reins.
For everybody believes that:“Father knows best”,
Even when he doesn’t, how dare you protest.
He leads the white house down an erroneous path,
And as they stumble and fall, he lets out a laugh.
They’ve been deceived again, they know it too well,
But won’t admit it, for fear everyone will tell.
The democrats speak out, with a condescending tone,
Not another deplorable, not another drone.
They frown on them, and look down their nose,
Making them feel stupid, for whom they chose.
But the MAGA voters know better than that,
They clutch their bruised egos, and step up to bat.
They’ll show those snobby liberals, a thing or two,
Voting for Trump three times, even if it hurts them too.
It’s not because, they still believe in the charlatan,
They just want to punish those who ridiculed them.
They won’t give in to reason, won’t admit they were wrong,
Digging in their heels, to prove they’re strong.
So let the facts be shown, and the truth be known,
Mind your manners, or their campaign banners, will be flown.
Be civil with your politics and religion, even with people you know.
Because being prideful is of the devil, it will trigger a snowflake into a foe!
“Owning the Libs”, an American Allegory
Commentary: It’s the patriarchal mindset of ‘father knows best, how dare you question his judgment’ that keeps people stubbornly supporting Trump in the face of overwhelming evidence of crimes, impeachments and indictments. The hardest thing for people to admit is that they made a mistake, even harder to say ‘I was wrong.’ Especially when the left talks to them in a condescending tone, implying they are stupid and grinding their faces in it. The MAGA voters know it. You can convince some of them that they were tricked and duped, but when the ‘I knew it all along and you didn’t’ smirk comes into it, you’ll lose them again. Now, Trump will have to exact their revenge for them, because you implied they were idiots. They’ll deliberately do things that will hurt themselves and their community—such as voting for Trump, again—because they hope it will also hurt you.
“The reason the MAGA republicans keep repeating the big lie, even though they know that the elections weren’t stolen, is because it’s a big joke to them—they do it to ‘own the libs‘ (mock the democrat voters who still believe in democracy). Ironically trump has ignited their ‘disgust for democracy’ reflex with his constant barrage of grievance rhetoric bombs.” By: A. Freeman
“But if the story is about Republican candidates who say in absolute terms that they have no business running for public office; that they don’t believe in democracy; that indeed they have contempt for the very idea of normal people manifesting their destinies; […] With that, citizens know what to do. That paradox is, of course, this: Republican candidates who are hostile to democracy are asking voters to entrust them with democracy. They are saying, ‘I can’t be trusted.’ […] When you allow anti-democrats to sit at the negotiating table of democracy, little gets done, because the table’s been depoliticized. That, of course, is the ultimate objective of these Republican anti-democrats. They strive to make democracy unworkable, ungovernable and unbearable, hoping to drive republican citizens into despairing whether they can manifest their own destinies. Fortunately, they are telling us who they are.” Excerpt from Republican anti-democrats are telling us who they are. Are we listening?

“I don’t write my post-apocalyptic stories, because that’s what I think our future will become. I write them, so that you’ll know what future to avoid.” By: Ray Bradbury
Definition: “Owning the libs” is a political strategy used by MAGA republicans in the United States that focuses on upsetting political liberals. Users of the strategy emphasize and expand upon culture war issues intended to be divisive to provoke a reaction in others. Hatred of liberals is all that’s left of conservatism, the “owning of the libs” has pushed aside all policy goals, previously central to conservatives—such as smaller government, lower taxes and a commitment to democracy and patriotism.
