Marriage is for Winners, porn is for cheaters and cheaters never win

King David looked down from his height,
And gazed upon Bathsheba’s naked sight.
God’s Law he did not keep,
His secret desire ran too deep,
So Nathan punished him, to make it right.

Let me tell you a story. Once there was a king who was loved by his people; he was a man after God’s own heart. One afternoon, while walking on the rooftop of his palace and looking down on his kingdom, he saw a woman taking a bath on a neighboring rooftop below. However, he did not look away—his gaze lingered on her.

David had everything he needed—riches, wives, and concubines—but he wanted more; he wanted Bathsheba. This incident is the first documented case of voyeurism or inappropriate viewing in the Bible. He thought he had received a free show, but just like modern pornography, he and his family had to pay a high price for his transgressions.

To cover up his sins, David broke three of God’s commandments: Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife, and Thou shalt not murder (he plotted for Bathsheba’s husband, Uriah, to be killed). In the end, cheaters never win. 2 Samuel 11-12

The Impact of Pornography on Men’s Sexuality and Societal Perceptions of Women

The story of King David, who gazed upon Bathsheba and was ultimately led to sin and suffering, serves as a timeless allegory for the dangers of unchecked desire and voyeurism. In modern times, pornography functions as a digital parallel—providing an accessible, often addictive, outlet that can distort natural sexual development and societal perceptions of women. Understanding how pornography affects men’s sex drive, their reward systems, and how it influences women’s self-image reveals profound psychological and societal consequences of this pervasive phenomenon.

Men’s Biological Wiring and the Natural Law of Earning Pleasure

Humans, especially men, are biologically wired with a strong libido primarily driven by the need to procreate and further the species. Evolutionary, this drive ensures that men seek out opportunities to mate and pass on their genes. The brain’s reward system, mainly involving dopamine pathways, is designed to reinforce behaviors that promote survival and reproduction. When a man successfully mates, his brain releases pleasurable chemicals like dopamine and oxytocin, reinforcing that behavior as beneficial and desirable.

However, this reward is not meant to be instant or unearned. Natural law dictates that men must work for and earn the pleasure of sex—through effort, commitment, and demonstrating value to their wife. When pornography offers a quick, effortless “reward,” it bypasses these natural processes, rewiring the brain to seek instant gratification rather than meaningful connection.

How Pornography Hijacks Men’s Sex Drive and Endangers Future Generations

Research shows that frequent pornography consumption can hijack men’s natural sex drive. A study published in JAMA Psychiatry (2016) found that excessive use of pornography is associated with decreased sexual satisfaction and erectile dysfunction, often called “porn-induced sexual dysfunction.” The dopamine-driven reward system becomes overstimulated, leading to desensitization—where the brain requires more extreme stimuli to achieve the same level of arousal. This not only diminishes the natural capacity for intimacy but also risks impairing the development of healthy sexual attitudes in young men.

Furthermore, exposure to pornography at an early age can distort perceptions of healthy sexuality, consent, and relationships, endangering the culture of future generations. According to psychologist Dr. David J. Ley, excessive consumption can impair impulse control and foster unrealistic expectations about sex and intimacy, which may be passed down as cultural norms. As boys grow up immersed in a culture of hyper-sexualized imagery, their understanding of real relationships becomes skewed, leading to a potential increase in unhealthy behaviors and attitudes toward women.

The Natural Law and the Culture of Effort

The natural law suggests that men’s pleasure should be earned—through effort, emotional investment, and demonstrating genuine value to their wife. Pornography, by providing instant gratification, undermines this principle, contributing to a culture where sex is viewed as an unearned commodity rather than a meaningful act of connection. This shift can erode the foundation of healthy relationships and diminish the importance of genuine commitment and respect.

The Corrupting Influence of “Smut Peddlers” and Exploitative Capitalism

At the core of this destructive cycle are the so-called “smut peddlers”—profit-driven entities and “evil capitalists” who manipulate societal vices for financial gain. These exploiters target vulnerable populations, especially impressionable youth, by flooding the market with explicit material designed to addict and desensitize viewers. Their goal is profit at the expense of morality, often disregarding the long-term damage inflicted on individuals, families and society.

Particularly insidious are the predatory tactics employed by some plastic surgeons and the adult entertainment industry. These professionals often entice women into participation by promising easy money or fame. They exploit women’s vulnerabilities—whether economic or emotional—by convincing them that participating in explicit content or undergoing cosmetic procedures is a quick route to wealth and validation.

Research and testimonies reveal that many women are lured into pornography and sexual exploitation under false promises of financial security, only to find themselves trapped in a cycle of objectification and shame. This manipulation not only commodifies women’s bodies but also perpetuates a culture where women are valued solely for their physical appearance and sexual availability. The profit motives of these industries thrive on the suffering and dis-empowerment of women, further corrupting societal standards and moral values.

Women are Not to Blame

It is important to recognize that women are not to blame for the rise of pornography or its exploitation. Many women resort to plastic surgery and exhibition as coping mechanisms or means to meet societal standards of beauty and desirability. These behaviors are responses to a modern culture that devalues inner virtue and promotes superficial validation. They are often motivated by a desire for acceptance and affirmation in a society that objectifies women, not by inherent vanity or moral failing.

The Human Condition

Drawing from the biblical story of King David, we see how unchecked desire and voyeurism lead to destruction and suffering. In modern times, pornography—fueled by profit-driven exploitation—hijacks the brain’s reward system, distorts perceptions of sexuality, and degrades societal values. The industry’s manipulation of women, promising easy money and validation, perpetuates a cycle of objectification, shame, and cultural decay.

Society’s Role in Pornography Resistance

Society—comprising parents, educators, churches, and policymakers—have the capacity and responsibility to resist this corrosive culture.

Parents: They are the first line of defense, shaping moral understanding and providing guidance. Open conversations about healthy sexuality, internet safety, and Christian or moral principles can help shield children from early exposure to harmful content.

Schools: Schools can implement comprehensive sex education that emphasizes respect, consent, and the dangers of pornography. Media literacy programs can help young people critically evaluate and resist manipulative content.

Churches: Faith-based groups can offer moral guidance, foster accountability, and support those struggling with addiction or exploitation. They can also promote virtues like chastity, respect, and genuine love.

Government: Governments can enact laws to restrict access to explicit content, regulate online platforms, and support initiatives against pornography addiction. Funding for recovery, education, and awareness campaigns is vital to combat the cultural decay.

It is the collective responsibility of society—parents, educators, faith communities, and lawmakers—to resist this destructive subculture. Recognizing that natural laws of effort, respect, and genuine connection underlie healthy sexuality, we must promote moral values, protect the vulnerable, and restore dignity to relationships. Only through concerted effort can we safeguard the morality of future generations and foster a culture rooted in respect, love, and authentic human connection.

“In every encounter, we either give life or we drain it; there is no neutral exchange.” By: Brennan Manning

When society strips men and women of their natural roles, chaos ensues. When a woman has scholarly inclinations, there is usually something wrong with her sexuality. When society disconnects femininity from its biological and emotional core, both sexes lose. In the end, one loves one’s desire (imagination) rather than what is to be desired (physical reality). Beware of (conservative/evangelical) preachers and moralists (authoritarian politicians) who profit from human weakness. Mission over validation. Discipline over dopamine.
