The Everlasting Truth About Love

I have more to be glad about,
Than I have not.
A beating heart, I still have;
A poet’s brain, I still have.
My heart beats faster,
When I think about love.

If I don’t ever,
Get to feel loved again;
If my other senses betray me,
My heart will still remind me,
That I too, was once loved.

“Love received is never lost,
For it will be my guiding star,
And mold my heart forever!”
But I must decide, once and for all,
If I will recall, my pain or her joy?
