It hurts my brain,
When I observe,
The politics of selfish men.
And that our age-old truths,
Aren’t accepted by the church,
Anymore!
How can we be free?
When the liberties they take,
Become our bondage.
It corrupts my flesh and injures my soul.
For it seeks to destroy,
The children of my heart!
I will resist it; I will speak up.
I’m not a Prophet,
But I’m the messenger.
Because I know, that in the end,
The Avenging Angel,
Won’t tolerate it!

Commentary: “The banality of evil” is a concept coined by the philosopher Hannah Arendt, who wrote that Adolf Eichmann, one of the chief architects of the Holocaust, was an ordinary man who was motivated by “an extraordinary diligence in looking out for his personal advancement.” Intellectuals are struck by how many government officials and patriots—often driven by professional ambition or obedience—are willing to be the enablers of authoritarian policies.
“The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the convinced Communist, but people for whom the distinction between true and false no longer exists.” By: Hannah Arendt
“Behold, I send an Angel before you, to keep you in the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my Name is in him. But if you shall indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an Enemy unto your enemies… For my Angel shall go before you, and bring you in unto (your enemies): and I will cut them off. You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but you shall utterly overthrow them, and completely break down their images. And you shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless your bread, and your water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of you. There shall nothing miscarry, nor be barren, in your land: the number of your days I will fulfill.” Bible, Exodus 23:20-26
