So many enlightened books, I should’ve read,
But why, am I so intrigued with Mystery?
So many edifying movies, I could’ve watched,
But why, am I so obsessed with Immorality?
So many virtuous poems, I would’ve written,
But instead, I expound on this Human Tragedy?

Commentary: Satan’s story to Eve in Genesis 3 and to Jesus in Matthew 4 was that they could live independently of God, that is, they could be their own god, set their own standards, let circumstances dictate their decision. But it is a lie.
Either God controls your life by your choosing to let him, or Satan controls your life by your choosing to let him and by your choosing to just go with flow. You and I were designed by God to be ruled by a spirit. Our choice is not whether to be ruled, but rather by which spirit we will be ruled.
So, the Christian’s life is based on decisions, the process of making deliberate right choices without being swayed by Satan’s input into our appetites or emotions.
“Repentance then, summarizing, consists chiefly of two things: turning from sin and forsaking it and turning to God. We know that someone has truly done that because it shows up in their life, in their course and conversation on the outside, in their affections and in their heart on the inside. Do they ever sin the sins of which they have repented? Not as a constant course of life. If they do, then their repentance was not of the truest kind.
But it is possible, as so well said, for some to have truly repented of their sins and still be overtaken and surprised by temptations so as to fall into the commission of the same sins which they have repented of, yet they do not lie in them but get up again and with bitter grief [regret] them, and return again onto the Lord.”

Active: You will never get any more out of life, than [what] you expect!
“I realize the dominating thoughts of my mind will eventually reproduce themselves in outward, physical action, and gradually transform themselves into reality; therefore I will concentrate my thoughts for 30 minutes daily, upon the task of thinking of the person I intend to become; thereby creating in my mind a clear mental picture [of who I really am].”
Passive: I only want, what I got coming?
“Where some people have ‘a self’, most have ‘a void’, because they’re too busy wasting their vital creative energy in projecting themselves as ‘this or that’, dedicating their lives to actualizing a concept of what they should be like, rather than realizing their potential, as a human being…”
Quotes by: Bruce Lee, (edited for context)
“Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.” Bible, Romans 8:5,6
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
“If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself… Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle chatter and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge—by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith. Grace be with you. Amen.” 1 Timothy 6:3-5,17-21
